Lay Leadership

Board of Directors

Robert Monk, president, has followed a career in banking with extensive community service.  Here at St. Andrew, he has co-chaired the Outreach Committee with his wife Suzanne; helped to establish Family Promise, a ministry to families temporarily homeless; trained as a Stephen Minister; and served on the Finance Committee.

Herb Malone, vice-president, served for decades as President and CEO of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Tourism, supporting a nearly $5 billion local tourism industry.  Before that he led the Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce from 1988 to 1993, working to recruit both businesses and guests to the area.  He and Bessie are longtime members of St. Andrew.

John Boller, treasurer, manages Gulf Shores Realty and is involved in local service organizations.  He and his wife Lynne are also busy with a son at home and other kids stretching from Tennessee to Taiwan.

Harriet Slaughter, secretary, has served in many ways -- leading a bell choir and the St. Andrew Women, hosting a small group study, serving as a Stephen Minister, providing meals for many events, and gracing just about every other area of church life.  She and her husband Joe have two grown daughters.

Debbie Fulmer is an agent with Goode Realty in Gulf Shores.  She leads the Explorers class with her husband, Tim, and they have also been active with Family Promise and the Emmaus community.  Debbie brings grandkids to St. Andrew on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Bill Prish is president of the St. Andrew Men, gathering them for breakfast and fellowship every month and encouraging their local benevolence.

Sandy Schuchardt has chaired St. Andrew's Worship Committee, served on its Vision Team, Trustees, and Building Committee, has sung in the choir, overseen construction of the Memorial Garden, and has shared her encouraging spirit in many other ways.

Heidi Stanley's musical gifts bless St. Andrew, just as her good sense has been so welcome on the Board of Trustees.  Heidi's husband Michael and daughter Allen also attend.

Nicole Woerner serves as the grants manager for the City of Orange Beach.  A twice-degreed graduate of Auburn University, she can be found at St. Andrew almost every Sunday and Wednesday with her husband Allen and children Katherine, William, and Pilot.
