Our church family likes to have a good time. Men’s groups, women’s groups, choirs, and classes regularly get together for events small and large. Then there are the big all-church events – some of which are sponsored by the Fellowship Committee.
To name just a few:
In January, a Red Beans and Rice dinner benefits the choir. It's a Mardi Gras feast, complete with costumes and rollicking music.
In February, St. Andrew cooks compete in a Chili, Soup, and Dessert Cook-Off. This year's winner in the soup division, once again, was Bill Martin's oyster stew. Not to cast any doubts on Bill, mind you -- he makes a fabulous stew -- but as he readily admits, the winner is determined by cash contributions, so be sure to bring plenty of generous friends.
In April, the church enjoys a Barbecue after worship. This year, children will also be invited to meet a flock of sheep on the lawn!
In July, weather permitting, we'll return to the Gulf State Park Pavilion for St. Andrew at the Beach, with worship and a picnic that recall our simple beginnings.
Our church’s Birthday Party in September is an altogether bigger affair, held in Fellowship Hall after worship.
Just before Halloween, the choir hosts a fabulous Fried Chicken dinner, and the kids turn out in their holiday costumes, of course.
And in mid-November, St. Andrew holds a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings (plus some you never imagined).
Through the year, we also host receptions for new members and couples celebrating special anniversaries.
