“To
set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans
8:6
Dying is a part
of life.
But grief still takes us by surprise
with its intensity and duration. This is
one of the times that a church family can really make the greatest difference.
There
is comfort to be found in good stories about those we’ve lost, and of course in
the good news of Jesus Christ.
Here
at St. Andrew, we will be honored to assist in any way, from the funeral
service and reception to checking on you months after the loss. Our ministers will help to design a service
that is personal, loving, and reverent. It’s
simply an honor to serve you.
Every
memorial here is different. A Christian
service of
thanksgiving
may involve a casket or ashes, hymns or no hymns, several tributes or just one eulogy. A good service can evoke both laughter and
tears. What we hope to do is blend an
appreciation of a very human life with God’s sacred story.
The
church and its ministers do not charge fees.
(If you would like to make a donation to the church, and provide
honoraria to officiants, those would be welcome, not necessary.) There may be fees for musicians. Ashes of those with a relationship to St.
Andrew by the Sea may be interred in the Memorial Garden, in a common urn,
where their memory will be honored every year.
There is a one-time fee of $500 for interment in the Memorial Garden.
Please
let us know how we may support you today – and in the days ahead.
