Please join us for Holy Week
March 02, 2018
From large ecumenical services to moments of personal reflection, this is a time for all Christians to appreciate the grace of God.
10:00 a.m. Children will process with palm branches, recalling the acclaim for Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. Readings and music will take us from that triumphant moment to Jesus' understanding that he would be rejected.
6:00 p.m. Holy Communion becomes ever more poignant as we recall Jesus' Last Supper with his disciples, which forever changed the Passover meal.
12:00 noon, Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. An ecumenical service, this observance brings together the Island's Christian community. Choir members from several churches will present a choral work by Dubois, "The Seven Last Words of Christ," and clergy will offer scripture readings and prayers.
6:30 a.m., Gulf State Park Pavilion. Please join us for this ecumenical service, which has become one of the area's cherished religious traditions.
Easter Worship with Holy Communion
10:00 a.m. Handbells, hymns, and high spirits mark the most joyous day of the Christian year. Rev. Wood will bring the message. Please join us at the close of worship in singing Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus." And children are invited to an Easter egg hunt on the lawn!
