Caregiving

"Is anyone among you sick?  Call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over you..."    James 5:14

Pastoral care at St. Andrew by the Sea is for the whole community, not just the church family.  If you or someone you know has been carrying a burden, our pastors can help lighten that load.

The church family provides casseroles to people in all kinds of situations -- whether members or not.

We also partner with the Christian Service Center, which provides food, shelter, and other assistance to those who need a hand.

Would you consider talking with a Stephen Minister?

Many people within and beyond our church family need a companion. People who have lost a family member, gone through a job loss or divorce, are housebound, or are dealing with a chronic illness, may just need someone to listen.

Stephen Ministers are laypeople trained for caregiving in non-emergency situations. Working closely with clergy, they make a great difference, just by being good friends.

St. Andrew by the Sea has recently commissioned nine persons for Stephen Ministry.  Rod and Linda Chappelle, our Stephen Leaders, hope you’ll prayerfully consider how we may help. Further information can be found online at stephenministries.org.
